This is a from scratch yellow cake with cream cheese frosting. I decorated it with fresh raspberries and blueberries for festive colors.
I love fruit and chocolate, so I thought that a chocolate strawberry cake would be wonderful. I used the durable cake recipe from this site, with a fresh strawberry filling, and WBH chocolate buttercream. The cookies on the side just were an extra touch that I saw and loved on several cakes I've seen in the gallery!
This was the first really decorated cake I ever made. it was a chocolate cake with raspberry cream cheese forsting for Mother's Day.
