Fire Truck
I made this for my son's 5th birthday. I used a toy fire truck and some pictures from the internet for inspiration. I also looked at nearly every fire truck cake on cc! I carved the cake from a 9x13 and covered it in fondant. All of the details are fondant except for the ladder which is royal icing. I wanted to add some more little details, but I was just too tired to do anymore.

Retirement Fish
I made this cake for my dad who just retired. He loves to fish...and now he will have more time! I looked at many fish cakes on cc, but my original inspiration came from jamiet's cake. I used 3/4's of a 10 inch square cake and carved. It is covered in fondant and painted with luster dusts. It is all edible except for the wire I used for the lure. Overall I am happy with the way it turned out, but I would do a few things differently next time!! I think my dad liked it anyway! Thanks for looking!

Assortment Of Christmas Cookies
All of my inspiration came from cc....because these are my first cookies! Well first since I began decorating FOR REAL! lol! I got the idea for the snowy tree from JenWhitlock. They are the NFSC and Antonia's Royal icing. Thanks cc for helping me through this new endevour!

Winter Greetings 3
This is my 3rd "Winter Greetings" inpired cake. My Mother is the artist of a Lenox china pattern called...you guessed it..."Winter Greetings." Anyway it is for a friend of my mom's that is having a holiday party and wants the cake to match the china. Anyway, I am not really happy with the way it turned out! I had "caker's block" and I just had trouble coming up with the concept. It looked prettier in my head. Though it does have a lot of sparkles and glitter that you can't really see in the photo.

Gumball Machine
I finally got the chance to make the gumball machine cake. I think I used each and every gumball machine cake on cc as inspriation for mine, but I want to give a special thank you to jkalman who sent me directions. I had some problems getting the fondant on the cake and it started to settle so I wasnt completely satisfied with the outcome of the cake. However the people I made it for really seemed to love it.

Winnie The Pooh
This is a wilton character pan covered in fondant. I baked two and trimmed them down in order to make the cake taller (which was a little bit of a pain.) It turned out to be way more cake than this person needs, but they wanted a filling and I couldn't torte this cake well. I saw this idea of using fondant on the cake on another site.

Thomas Face Cake
I have been asked to do so many Thomas the Train cakes that I needed to do something different. I saw similar designs on other websites (Cake Nouveau and also another site I thought was Sweet Art Cake Design, but now I don't see the cake on their site, so I am not sure...sorry!) It was pretty fun and easy to do, but since I didn't ask for much money, it took me longer than it should have! LOL!

Hello Kitty
This was a last minute order. Maybe with the extra money I earned I will buy sugarshacks new buttercream DVD! I really, really could use some improvement! Anyway, I hope she likes it. I worked on it all day yesterday with my kids running around. I do have to say (maybe because I have 3 boys) that I *love* the shades of pink and the confetti that I just happend to get in the mail yesterday! Hello Kitty is a chocolate transfer.

Diaper Bag Cake
The cake looked different in my head, but I am pretty happy with it overall. I had made a cute cake board to look like a blanket, but then I realized the yellow from the cake and the yellow of the cake board clashed too much, so I scrapped the idea. The shoes are gumpaste and the bottle is made from candy melts. I need more practice using the chocolate molds.

Baby Bootie!
The theme of the baby shower is baby foot prints. I really didn't feel like cutting out a bunch of little toes, so I bought a new stamp and decorated the cake board with baby feet. I think it turned out pretty cute. First time making the gumpaste booties. I thought they were rather easy actually. Also my first time doing fondant swags. I have wanted to do the swags and buttons for some time now. I hope my neighbor likes it. I don't think she has seen any of my cakes before!

Ace Of Cakes Totally Awesome Cake Challenge/scarecrow
This was my entry into the Ace of Cakes Totally Awesome Cake Challenge in Rockford, IL. The event was judged solely by Duff himself, and I was lucky enough to receive 3rd place (honorable mention) for my scarecrow. I had the opportunity to meet several other cc members and see their amazing entries as well. I plan to put some additional photos and a video clip on my website later this week, so please come and take a peak! The scarecrow is a cake dummy that I carved and covered in fondant.

Monster Marriage
This idea came from the Wilton "cupcake fun" book. I quickly realized it was harder than I thought to ice the mini loaf cakes nicely. I wish they looked a little neater but I just didn't want to spend that much time on these. I made them to go with the Frankenstein marshmallow pops I posted earlier this week. They are for a neighborhood party tonight. I guess the kids wont notice the flaws!

"cherry Pie" Cupcakes
I bought the Wilton "cupcakes" magazine because I saw these and had to try them. They were pretty quick and easy to make! We are having a neighborhood block party this afternoon, and I just needed a cake project to do. My DH laughed when I told him and said he hoped I would still be this passionate about cakes in 4-5 years. Is there any doubt..............? LOL!

Fairy Toadstool
This is from Debbie Brown's 50 Easy Party Cakes. I made a few small structural and design changes. The fairies were very fun to make. I did not like putting the fondant on the mushroom cap, though it worked anyway. Overall, I had a lot of fun with this design. It is for a 1st Birthday party today, the mom picked this from the book.

Grammie's Gift Cake
I made this for my DH's Grandma for her party tomorrow. I carried the pink and brown theme through with chocolate cake and raspberry SMBC as filling. This is my first loopy type bow and first time using the diamond pattern on the sides. I had some trouble getting the chocolate fondant to cooperate too, but overall I am pretty happy with the outcome. My influences were cakes by Kathy-mi and Nunuk.
