Thanksgiving Cake
The Heavenly Pumpin Spice recipe w/ pumpkin spice buttercream filling & cinnamon creme crusting cream cheese frosting. The leaves & pumpkins are fondant. Did at the last minute (few hours) after being invited to a Thanksgiving dinner. I had the worst time w/ these recipes. The cake took forever to bake, then sank in the middle, & some of the sides fell off. Then the frosting was so full of air bubbles it was hard to smooth & very greasy. But people liked & it tasted fine.

Unisex Birthday Cake
Did this last year for a SIL & FIL combo bday. We were celebrating at the lake, hince the theme. Thanks to Doug for inspiration. It was my first attempt at working w/ fondant & RI also. Cabin from a pic of the one we stayed in. Stone border & cake iced in buttercream. Cabin, dock, boat, fish tail, bear, & banner (writing is those bottles of writing stuff which I hate!) all fondant. Water is blue tinted piping gel & trees are sugar cones w/ RI.

Preschool Cupcake Cake
My first attempt at a cupcake cake. Did at the last minute for my preschooler's leaving for kindergarten. Chocolate cupcakes & buttercream. Not my favorite & I hate the colors, but did it at around midnight & didn't want to fool w/ red. I had the icing too thin & it started falling through the holes between the cupcakes.

Knights Kingdom Lego's
A cake I made for my nephew's 6th bday last year. Chocolate cake w/ buttercream. Shields are made from chocolate melts. Edible image in the middle my SIL had. Lego's & swords are buttercream & the yellow has gold luster dust. You can't see in this photo, but the width sides are yellow icing (b/c I ran out of blue--oops!) My nephew (who can be difficult) didn't have the appreciative action I was hoping for, so I won't put this much time into another for him. But all the kids fought over the "shields".
