First Fantasy Flower
I was trying to get a jump on my gumpaste/fondant class this, so I tried my hand at this flower. It seemed really easy but I wish it looked better to my eyes. I had a good time working with it. I think that I will try the extra tip of the tissue between the petals for the ones we will make in class tonight. Any other tips would begreatly appreciated!!! TFL!!

First Fondant Figure
Okay, this was a bit of work. As you can see, it is going to take some more work, too. I was wanting to try my hand at making a fondant figure to see if I might be able to make it through it. It took some time and I couldn't keep her from leaning over-maybe my 50/50 mix wasn't firm enough. I will try to make it fimer the next time. I know that she looks a hot mess, but I am happy with the first attempt. I think that with some practice, I migh get the hang of the whole darn thing! Well, thanks for looking an

First Fondant Cake
Okay, this is the first fondant cake that I have made. This was for the fondant/gumpaste class that I am taking. I really need to work on the edges and drape a little more. Practice makes perfect, right? I just used the colors I already had mixed up. Hope to make more of these in the future! I am really enjoying it!! TFL

Kris' Mod Mom Cake
I finally got asked to do one of these! I have been loving everyone else's on the site. You all just inspire me!! Well, this is a half sheet choc/vanilla. I used regular BC to decorate with. Got a lot of fans with this, too! Hope to get more in the future. Just wish that I was able to do this all the time. I am really out of practice. But I think the pace will pick up after this one.

Lydianna's Castle
This was my first time trying this out-notice I only made 2 towers/turrets. Also my first time using the cobblestone method I have seen here-balls flattened with paper towels. The mom had asked for just a half sheet. But I went out on a limb, since the bday girl was turning five. It was the hit of the day. Everyone loved it!!(Good, for me on taking a chance). I made 6" & 8" choc castle and 9x13 double layer vanilla. It was way fun to do. I will be more daring wit the next one I think.

Second Shoe-Loved It!!!
Okay, this is the 2nd shoe attempt. Loved every second of this one! I found that if I used a small bag of powdered sugar(had a bit left over from kneading the MMF)on the front of the shoe, it was much smoother. I used kelly green for the color and brushed on super pearl LD for the shine. I could still use a bit more work on my technique. But I am happy with the result. Named it "Shoes by Edie" for my younger daughter's nickname. Thanks for looking!

My First Shoe-Hated It!!
This was my first try at the shoe. Obviously, it left alot to be desired. After I had trouble with the heel and the saran wrapped front, I pretty much just threw the other stuff on so it didn't seem like I wasted my time. But I did learn alot from this one about what Not to do. The next shoe came out tons better. Thanks for the instructions, Nati! Sorry I am not as good a study as you are a teacher.

It was ordered the day before and after I worked all day!!! But everyone enjoyed it!!! They especially liked that it was "real icing"! That made me laugh inside. Thanks for looking!

Last Minute Changes B-Day Cake
This was a cake that was ordered as one kind and then changed at the last minute. It was a kahlua flavored yellow cake with raspberries and blue berries added inside. The bday girl likes special dark chocolate, I used the new kisses to dip the strawberries. She is also a fruit nut!!! Topped off with regular bc icing. I didn't like it because of rushing to change it 2 hours before it was due! I used the other cake for my family that night. Apparently, everyone loved it! But I can see the mistakes!

1St Baby Shower/clothesline Cake
This was my first attempt at the ever popular clothesline cake. I made it for a teacher at my son's school. It is a 2 layer doctored yellow 9x13. Regular vanilla BC filling and frosting and fondant pieces. I hope that she likes it. She asked for just a plain white cake that said "Welcome, Baby", so I pray that she isn't disappointed that I didn't do that. I tried, but it looked so plain that I thought I would die!! Thanks for all of the inspiration I got from you guys, especially Amylou! Feedback, please!!!

This was my third cake last week(never do that again). It is a 1/2 sheet marble cake with vanilla BC filling and icing. The picture is an edible image. The glasses are MMF painted with icing paste and super pearl dust, with edible pearls attached. Big hit for the birthday girl and guests. I got another 2 orders from this one, too!

Simple 50Th Birthday Cake
This is the second cake I made last week. It was just a simple black and white cake for a teacher. I thought it was plain so I added the candle, the hills and flowers. I think it was still plain, but they got what they wanted. Apparently, it was a big hit. It is a yellow cake with vanilla BC filling and icing.

Bear And Roses
This is a single layer 9" marble cake filled w/ seedless blackberry preserves and covered w/MMF. Bear, roses, and border for the lounger are all MMF. Cake is sprayed with Wilton's pink spray color. I made this cake to practice with fondant and to add a new pic to my customer album. It could use something else, but I am not sure what. Thanks for any and all comments.
