Just another Oh Boy cake made for my cousin. The father-to-be was a Nebraska fan, and the Mommy-to-be was an Oklahoma fan....so I tried to represent them both!
My attempt at a Sugarshack cake (which of course is way out of league) so I had to adapt it to my skill level. The Mom-to-be seemed to like it. Top layer Lemon cake, bottom layer white cake with raspberry filling.
Just a fast cake thrown together for my Mom's b-day....I have 2 more cakes to do this weekend...so this had to be an easy one.
After my last order was cancelled (after I had almost finished the cake), the customer reordered this week (when I didnt really have the time to do a cake...oh well) At any rate, I wasn't as happy with this one. Originally an order (that was cancelled due to an ice storm that hit us), I decided to finish the cake quickly and just send it to my DH work as a practice cake. Originally there was supposed to be writing in the middle of the oval. My DS was screaming his head off so the roses are not up to par, but since it was just for practice anyway....I just went with what I had. Thanks for looking! This was orginally inspired by Butternut but I hesitate to say that as mine is no where in that league!

Made this cake for my Aunt when I found out her birthday was today! Not as nice as I wanted to do....but her b-day just snuck right up on me. Originally inspired by YellowJacket (but hers is so much nicer) I had to try a multi-colored daisy cake. Thanks for looking!

I ran out of time so I didnt make enough flowers to do the cascade thing...but I still thought it turned out ok...still working on smooth icing...though the paint scraper helps.

An attempt to copy Wespam's too cute cake, this was my second attempt at a tier cake. I thought it came out pretty cute, chocolate cake with raspberry filling in bottom layer, strawberry cake with strawberry filling top layer.
I was so disappointed with this cake, it was just for my own birthday (thank goodness) and I was trying to practice a tier b-day cake because my niece has a b-day in a week...and I wanted to do one for her. Second attempt with MMF....I just have these visions about how things are going to look...and I just never quite get there!
My first ever Fondant cake, bought the nasty boxed fondant, but made MMF for all the pink decorations (also first time with MMF). Strawberry cake with buttercream frosting under the fondant. Thought for my first attempt with Fondant, it wasn't bad.

Definately not perfect, but I thought it came out pretty cute. My 4 year old niece wanted me to save it for her "birthday when I get 5'.
Attempted to make a joint Anniv Edible Image cake for my parents and some friends of the family...I was so disappointed how one of the edible images came out (from a bakery) so I tried to cover it with purple rosettes (it was really green) ended up giving the guy purple rosette hair! Lesson learned...quit before you really overdo things...yikes
Very chocolate cake, Dark Chocolate Cake (with choc pudding added) raspberry filling, chocolate BC all topped with Ganache....for me it was a bit chocolate overload (just a practice cake).
