Aye's Birthday Cake
Made this cake for my sister-in-law who's pregnant and is having a birthday. It's 7 inch and 9 inch chocolate mud cakes covered in fondant with modeling fondant topper (which I uploaded earlier).
Made this topper for my sister-in-law who is expecting and is having her birthday in 2 weeks. Cake to follow. She is so happy and excited to be pregnant after years of trying. The sofa design and cushions matches her very own. Figure made of modeling fondant. Sofa made of rice cakes/crackers and covered in fondant.
Baby Shower Cake
Made this for a friend's baby shower. Thanks to gladds for her tips and letting me borrow her 'baby-shower' idea. Clothesline design is from the various cakes posted here. Cakes and clothes are fondant. Baby, toy ducks, shower are made from modeling fondant. Royal icing bubbles.
A cake I did last Christmas. I did the topper using aine2's christmas snowman and tree videos and modified it a bit.
I wanted to try something different. Thanks to Jennifer Dontz (JenniferMI) for letting me borrow her idea.
Ribbons And Bear
I wanted to practice working with fondant - covering and stacking. I'm learning a lot and really greatful for this site for advice and ideas. Thanks to you all. I made the bear topper a while back, using aine2's little teddy bear video and mini rose video. Thanks Lorraine!
Green Loop Bow
Just started working with fondant late last year and wanted to practice covering cakes. I also wanted to try the loop bow using instructions posted here. Thanks for looking.
Baby With Blocks
Another practice at modelling using aine2's tutorials. I see she has a new baby tutorial out - can't wait to get that one. Thanks for looking.
Baby & Bear
Made of modelling fondant. Was able to create this thanks to aine2's (Lorraine McKay) tutorials. Thanks Lorraine! I'm still practising. Thanks for looking.
My first whimsical, inspired by many photos here on CC, and following how to instructions. It was meant to be 3 tiered but the last cake wasn't big enough. Thanks for looking.
Just wanted to make something for valentines day, hence the small cake. Will also look great tiered. Had some challenges with the bear. Originally he was holding 6 heart sticks, which was just stuck to the base, then his front arm broke because of the weight. Arrggh! So I had to quickly glue it back again, reduce the sticks and this time stick it right through the cake for extra support. Phew! Lesson learned. TFL.
My version of Lorraine's Bear Hugs. Thank you for a great tutorial Lorraine. I managed to make this without proper modelling tools. I just used what I had in the kitchen like toothpick, straw, bbq stick. Just goes to show that you can make anything with Lorraine's easy to follow tutorial. Thanks for looking.
