I got an order for a b-day cake for a 4 y/o who wanted a pink cake w/pink frosting and a pink cat on it. Here's what I came up with.
There was a post quite some time ago about column cakes and I thought they were so beautiful. This design was inspired by Brides in Bloom. It's a dark choc cake (2 6" tiers) are torted and filled w/PB mousse and frosted w/Cream cheese frosting.
This is a 1/4 sheet cake I made for a little girl who loves horses. I sent her the picture to color and then scanned/printed it onto a frosting sheet.
Just a simple cake decorated w/BCT cap and diploma.
This is an 11x15 w/6" round on top. Not my best work and it's for a friend's little boy. I wanted it to be really special. I'm sure he'll like, I just hope Mom does too. The round cake stuck in pan so bad that I had to pitch it and use one from my freezer. Also used Wilton's recipe for Snow White BC and it crusts superhard!
A little girl wanted these for her school b-day party. They saw them on the Wilton website.
This is for my niece who is graduating from college. (Makes me feel old!) The words are hard to read. Here's the saying-Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss you'll land among the stars. The moon and stars are fondant.
Trying to put together a portfolio for brides to see something I've done. 6, 9, 12 in rounds. Cheapo silk roses from Wal-Mart. Couldn't justify spending a lot of money on real roses for a practice cake.

This is another practice cake using my tailored tier set from Wilton. I have such a hard time getting everything centered.
I would like to start offering wedding cakes. So this is a practice cake I did today. This is my 2nd attempt at a fondant bow. This one turned out better. The ribbon on the cake has wire in it. I think it would be easier to work with the kind w/o wire.
I made IMBC today for first time (actually it's Duff's French BC recipe). It is absolutely divine. And so easy to smooth. I had made the daisies from MMF the day before.
Found some NFSC cough in freezer and had some leftover MMF so I made these fro the kids today.
This was a cake for my daughter's 5th birthday and an opportunity for me to try lots of new things. It was my first time using columns to separate tiers. First time using impression mats...which I loved! First time using sparkle dust. (My dd loved the sparkles!) First time making dulce le lache; which was divine. It's an 8", 6" and 4". Also had a 1/4" glass round cut for the bottom tier and I think I prefer this to a cake drum.
Simple 1/4 sheet cake. First time using the CC recipe for "Buttercream Dream;" I LOVED it!
