Just Ducky Smash Cake
Smash cake to go along with the Just Ducky birthday cake. Both cakes match the partyware from Oriental Trading Company. While the big cake had lots of fondant bubbles, duck, etc., I wanted the smash cake to be 2-dimensional so the birthday girl wouldn't choke on any decorations. So I used the image from the coordinating plates as a design for the top of the smash cake.
Made to match the first birthday rubber ducky party tableware from Oriental Trading Company. All decorations are fondant. Bubbles painted in superwhite luster. This was a fun one to make!
Made to match the "Dragonfly Dreams" nursery bedding (you can view it on Walmart's website). All fondant decorations with fondant baby bootie.
Blue & Brown Daisy Cake
This was one of those cakes that didn't want to cooperate! It was for a blue & brown polka dot theme at a baby shower. Daisies on the cake were inspired by Rebecca Sutterby (thanks, Rebecca!). Chocolate chip cake with bittersweet ganache filling and buttercream under fondant.
Seashell Wedding Cake
My first wedding cake! White butter cake with fresh lime curd and raspberry fillings. Covered in fondant with chocolate shells. Layers are 14-12-8-6. Thanks to everyone on CC who inspired me with their seashell cakes and also to those who were kind enough to answer my questions!
Little Mermaid Ariel Cake
This was for my daughter's birthday. She wanted Ariel with Flounder and Sebastian (he's on the other side of the rock). The rock and mermaid's tail are done in fondant, the water is buttercream & piping gel. Shells are white chocolate with sparkle dust. The sparkle on the tail and shells looked awesome in person!
This was for my son's birthday. It was a joint party for my daughter, so I did another cake the same day (mermaid cake in my pics). I ended up having just a few hours to do this one, so I was thankful that so many others on this site had come up with this great idea (which I copied almost exactly - thank you!!!). The one thing I did differently was form the mountains to look like the ones in the movie, or at least I tried! Fudge cake with cookies & cream filling.
Soccer Cake For Child's 2Nd Birthday
The mom asked for a black and white 9" cake with a soccer theme. Butter cake with vanilla buttercream. All decorations are rolled fondant.
Quilling Birthday Cake
This was a last-minute cake request. I had made the quilled flowers for a 2-tier cake, but that cake was cancelled. So I used them on this smaller cake instead. I was pretty pleased with how it came out. Everything is fondant. Inspiration from Colette Peters.
Princess Birthday Cake
Made this for a friend's daughter - Disney princess theme. All fondant decorations (except the tiara and princesses). This was my second fondant cake and second stacked cake. Bottom border should have also been fondant balls, but I got distracted while softening my last bit of fondant in the microwave & ended up melting it! So, I had to improvise! Thanks for looking!
Baby Shower Turtle
This was my first fondant-covered cake. A friend emailed me a photo (she may have seen it here at CC, not sure) and asked me to replicate the cake. I altered the design just a bit. Thanks to whomever the original designer is!
Mint & Fudge Whipped Cream Cake
This was a last-minute, throw-together cake. Torted fudge cake filled and iced with mint-flavored, sweetened whipped cream. Surrounded by soft peppermint sticks and tied up with a bow!
Hugs N Stitches With Smash Cake
This matches the Hugs n Stitches partyware. Alternating layers of fudge cake and butter cake with chocolate ganache filling. All fondant decorations with painted accents. Smash cake to match. Thanks to Rebecca Sutterby of Sugar Creations for the inspiration!
