Train Birthday Cake
I used several ideas from this site to create this train cake for my son's 2nd birthday. It was chocolate cake with buttercream icing, pretzel rods for logs, and to connect each train car. The smoke stack was an ice cream cone. i made the letters for his name with royal icing and lolipop sticks.

Luau Waterfall Cake
I made this one for my husband's surprise birthday luau. It is double layer pound cake 10 inch and 8 inch. The tiki hut was 2 cupcakes stacked with a cocktail umbrella for the roof. The cake was iced in chocolate buttercream, then decorated over the top with regular buttercream. The flowers, rocks, and palm leaves are all royal icing. I was a little disappointed that the palm leaves didn't stand out like I would have liked for them to have. Thanks to all of the other ccers for ideas!

University Of Georgia Groom's Cake
I did this cake for my cousin's wedding reception. He wanted something UGA and was thrilled when he saw this cake. It was pound cake with buttercream and chocolate buttercream icing. This was my first cake larger than just a stacked 1/2 and 1/4 sheet cake. I was pretty excited with the outcome. Thanks for looking!

Construction Cake
I did this cake for my son's first birthday. I used a construction set I found at Toys R Us as the toppers, and used crushed oreos for the asphault. I don't have a picture of the smash cake, but it was a small rectangle pound cake (I ended up having to send my mother to the store to purchase a frozen pound cake for me to decorate for him last minute, I forgot to save out enough batter for his cake!) with a big #1 and 2 small dump trucks. He liked running the trucks through the icing more than eating it!

Graduation Cap Cake
I used several ideas from this site, to create my own version of the graduation cap cake. I baked the rounded part of the cap in a pyrex mixing bowl, then baked a sugar cookie in a big square, and let it get really hard. I then iced it all to look like a graduation cap. I was a little worried about the coloring, the school colors are gold and burgundy. Burgundy is very difficult to achieve in icing coloring!

Swimming Pool Cake
This was done for a girl's pool party. When her mom picked the cake up, she could hardly contain her happiness with the look of the cake. It's a great feeling when that happens! The water was piping gel tinted blue, and the rope across the pool was made with smarties. The rest is buttercream icing.

Little Mermaid Birthday
I took a few ideas from this site and created my own version of the Little Mermaid birthday cake. The island is created with a cupcake, then covered with icing, and graham cracker crumbs to look like sand. I purchased the little mermaid and flounder in a package together at Target for about 4.99, thanks to bjfranco for that information!
