Hippy Birthday
My neighbor turned 50 so I made her a small cake. This was my first attempt at making cake look tie dyed. It was done on white fondant. I also made the margarita glass out of sugar. The cup part was my third try because it broke the first two tries. I also managed to burn myself pretty good. I needed a margarita after making this one! ;)

Dr Suess
The theme for this baby shower was dr. suess so I did an offset stack with characters from some of the books in gumpaste. I cut out the figures with my Cricut cake and hand painted them. I wanted them to look like 2D from the books. Forgive me, but I forgot to take out the paper towel from the bow at the top before I took the picture!

Video Game
My husband loves his Xbox so I did this one for his birthday. The controller and game is rice cereal covered in fondant and decorated accordingly. The system was complete with all the plugs and wires on the back as well. He liked it so much he made me keep the controller to show his brother in three months!

Confirmation
This is a custom cut cake in the shape of a cross covered in MMF. It has royal icing bridge work on the side creating the lace look. The center plaque is colorflow with royal icing layered to create the relief effect. All the little ribbon loops, flowers, and bows are fondant. This was my first time doing bridge work. I like this technique and will probably do it again, but I did find it very time consuming! (I blurred out the name for the internet because it was for a minor.)

Batman To The Rescue
My son had to have Batman. My worst nightmare...black! Well, being inspired by other CC users, I managed this buttercream cake. The dark blue was airbrushed. The city buildings, Batman call sign, and Batman himself are colored chocolate. I hand piped Batman upside down over a pattern....didn't know how he was going to turn out until I flipped him over! I had one chance.

Pearls & Pink
This is exactly what the bride wanted. Each layer a different flavor and torted twice with a different filling. More cake work than decoration! She also provided the cake topper - swarowski crystals. They didn't want to sta in the right place when I placed them. Very hard to get to right. Not bad for my first wedding cake. What do you think?
