My Daughter's 23Rd Birthday Cake
Here is what I made for the daughter this weekend. A 10" and 6" yellow cake with lemon custard filling. As I was decorating had several ideas in mind......next time I write out a plan and stick to it.....too many decorating elements on this one for me....but it tasted good!
Birthday Boot Cookies
Here are a couple of cowboy boot cookies made for my dad's birthday - this pair I put his initials on!
Dad's Birthday Cookie
Here is a cookie I made to send to my father (along with about 2 doz cowboy boot and hat cookies) for his 75th birthday, only because I could not ship a decorated cake from Jersey to Florida! It is my first try using marshmallow fondant, and of course no-fail sugar cookies.
Course 3 Final Cake
Well my layers are not very big - the recipe I tried shrunk when it cooled, but all in all I am pleased with my first attempt at tiered cake.
Second Attempt At Cookie Decorating......
.....am getting there. The outlines of the bunny turned out sloppy because the icing was too thick/dry, but figured it out by the time I got to the chicks. I see that I need to put more icing inside the outlines so it pillows up a bit. Also need to improve my eyeball drawing - yikes!
Course 3 - "present" Cake
This is my first experience with fondant. Love the look, but will have to learn to make MMF so it will taste decent.
My Very First Attempt At Decorating Cookies.
No-Fail sugar cookies with Alice's cookie icing. Not as good a job as I had hoped for my first attempt, and I have to learn not to put my fingers too close to unset icing!
Course 2 Final Cake - Front View
For better or worse, here is my final exam for course 2. Had alot more royal icing flowers, but felt what was on there was enough
First Football Cake
Made this for the men in my family for Superbowl '06. The "grass" is colored coconut.
Wilton Course I Final Cake
Was somewhat plesed with this - the icing was too thin to hold the bow upright, and the flowers needed more practice, but my family was impressed!
