A Cake For The Groom
This cake was made for a co-worker who is getting married next wee. Saw this in a Wilton yearbook and was just what we were looking for. 12" square chocolate amaretto cream cake, buttercream icing. My first time doing garlands (need work) and my writing still needs alot of work (ugh), but all in all was happy with the finished product.
My Nephew's Graduation Cake
Here is a cake made for my nephew. 12"x12" scratch yellow (Toba recipe) cake - my first attempt at scratch. Vanilla mouse filling, buttercream icing. The lion face is a chocolate transfer (love to do these) and the cap is actually 2 candycoated cookies, covered in a 50/50 gumpaste/fondant mix, with a graham cracker covered in the same for the top. Tassle is embroidery floss. Letters are fondant (using the new Wilton letter forms) and they and the cap are dusted in luster dust. Thanks for looking! deb
Duck Baby Shower Cake
Made for a co-worker of my husband. Yes, that is an icing hat on the rubber duck! LOL!!! French vanilla cake, vanilla cream filling, buttercream icing. First time using two colors on a cake. I like the results!
Baby Bear Shower Cake
From a Wilton design, used the bear pan on top of a 1/4 sheet pan. White almond sour cream cake, buttercream icing. Used a real baby bottle instead of the cake decorations suggested - at least it was usable afterwards! Thanks for looking! deb
St .patty's Day Cake
Here is a quicky cake I made for the folks in the (downstairs branch) office for their luncheon today. Not the most spectacular job I have ever done, and just a quick, 1-layer, no filling cake. Had to try out the pan! LOL!!!! French Vanilla cake with green coloring swirled inside, fondant and buttercream outside.
Another Birthday Cake
Made for the fiance of a co-worker (his first order from me). 8" round cannoli cake recipe from "Cake Mix Doctor" book - what a yummy filling!
Welcome Cake For Little Girl
This is for the grandaughter of a friend who is coming to visit. For some reason this did not turn out as well as I had wanted......could not for the life of me get the squiggles right - hoped the candy jimmie confetti helps it. Truthfully I mess up every other cake I decorate, and tonite is one of those nights!
Wilton Fondant & Gumpaste Class - Final Cake
I didn't want to complete this in class because I knew some of the elements would take too long, so did it at home to bring in. Luckily we will still be learning things tomorrow nite. So, how did I do? Still have to work on making the fondant smoother on top and the very bottom sides, but all in all I am extremely happy with the way it turned out
I decided to make a few of these to go on my final cake for the gumpaste/fondant class (adding my personal touch) and wanted a few rosebuds. This is the second time I have attemped these (using the gumpaste flower kit purchased last year) and was very pleased this time with the results.
Here is the cake I made for my grandson's christening party tomorrow. This idea was taken from the 1995 Wilton cake decorating book - came close, just did not do all the string work, and the cross was made from candymelts because I could not get the colorflow to cooperate with me. White cake, vanilla creme filling, and buttecream icing.
Embossed Heart With Rolled Buttercream
My first attempt at rolled buttercream......maybe should have used an easier cake for the first attempt.......
Birthday Cake For A Friend
Thought I would make a cake and use just round tips........started to make cornelli lace (turned out horrible), so switched to sotas. My writing still needs work, but all in all it did not turn out too bad. Chocolate cake, oreo cookie mousse filling, (Toba's) buttercream frosting. This is the first time I used a Hershey's kiss as a rose base - what a great idea! It works great!
Valentine Cookies - Hugs & Kisses
Here is my version of "hugs and kisses" cookies for Valentine's day. I decided that it would be easier just to dip them in colored sugar before baking as they are small and would be a pain to decorate with icing. Also are some very small heart cookies, also dipped in colored sugar. NFSC, of course!
Mini Valentine Heart Cake
Wanted to make a sample cake to offer to the office gals.......6" heart cake, which is nice as a cake for two. This one is made with fondant and buttercream accents, but for them will just do all buttercream. Those are fondant roses, which I have not attempted to make in months, and did not have that easy a time using MMF. Being I am offering them their choice of cake, filling and flower/border color, these will go for $15.
Valentine Cookie Bouquet Sample
Here is my proto-type of the cookie bouquet I want to sell for Valentine's Day. Am thinking of not including the little "love" cookie, just the five in the cup. The largest is a big 4" heart. What do you think:
Yule Log, Again
Looks like the third time is the charm! By George, I think I got it! LOL!!!! This is the best one I made for the holidays, finally! Chocolate cake, chocolate whipped cream moose, ganache covering, with royal icing holly. Thanks for looking! PS: how do you like that tray - got it at the dollar store! What a find!
Christmas Tree Cookie
Another cookie design from the large order. NFSC with royal icing (green spread with spatula) and a sprinkling of sanding sugar.
Christmas Ornament And Stocking Cookies
From my biggest order so far - 5 dozen cookies! NFSC using royal icing (spread with spatula) with the ornament dipped in sanding sugar, and sprinkled on the stocking.
Second Attempt At Yule Log
Well, I finally found a chocolate cake that worked, and mixed half ganache with half melted candymelts, and the outside turned out perfect. Put on a thin layer, let set then put on a thicker layer, using a fork for the bark. Filling was 2 cups heavy cream with a box of instant chocolate pudding...............OMG - wasl licking the litle bit left in the bowl! Looks like I am getting the hang of this! However note to self.......remove the waxed paper used to catch drips BEFORE the chocolate hardens!
Cookies For A Tea Party
Here are some of the cookies I made for a little girl's tea party. Made tea cups and tea pot cookies - NFSC with MMF and royal design.
Star Cookie Christmas Trees
Made these for an order - much happier with these than the first one I did a week ago. NFSC, royal icing and M&M's
A tray of NFSC cookies made for a wedding celebration. Update: the bride & groom, and the rest of the family loved these - not only the look but the taste (just love this recipe)! No better feeling than having folks eat your work and love it!
Baby's First Birthday Cake
Here is the cake I made for my grandson........only decided to do it at 9:45 am for a 2pm party. Also made a smash cake to go with it. This is my second chocolate transfer, and can tell it was rushed - not filled in very well. Also shoud have realized I needed to shrink down the image to fit on an 8" cake (and be able to actually write happy birthday), but was in such a rush to get it done, never thought it out good enough. Not one of my best efforts, but it went over well.
