This is my original creation using a variety of Lambeth and Australian techniques. I took Best of Show and center stage on the Best of Show table (signifying judges favorite out of the five Best of Show cakes chosen from different categories) in San Diego's Confections on Parade Cake Show in LaJolla, California in 2007. I like this photo better than the other I uploaded. TFL :-) Special thanks to Kerry Vincent, Wendy Kromer and Shirley Wilson for your invaluable advice in helping me create something I thought was out of my reach.

Star Wars Birthday
This is my version of a similar Star Wars cake my SIL found online. She helped me with this. It was for her little boy turning four. The Lego figures are made of fondant. Light sabres are made using spaghetti sticks. Thank you to the original creator of this cake for your inspiration!!!
New Years' Eve Wedding
This is a last minute cake order for a wedding that had to be moved up due to military deployment. Chocolate cake w/seedless raspberry filling iced in buttercream and pastillage roses. It had to travel outside unexpectedly so it got pretty wet enroute to reception site. I think it turned out okay considering. TFL!
A Three And A Half Foot Long Long Board.
This cake was an unusual request for me. It is a carrot cake filled/iced with cream cheese frosting. It weighed a ton and was relatively easy to carve and place on board ( the actual Long Board itself per customer's request) but when it came to icing it.....so star tipping it was. I think it turned out okay despite my lines being off quite a bit. TFL!
Medical Service Corps 61St Birthday
This is a homemade carrot cake with applesauce for a moister texture. Cream cheese filling/frosting. Edible images, fondant rope, gold dragees. Drop string trim around base. I am a Critique Subgroup Member. All comments welcome!! Got feedback on this cake. Not a crumb was left!! Everyone enjoyed and loved the way I decorated it. WHEW!!! Was sweatin!!!
My First Ever Fondant Frog
These little guys are an inspiration from all the frogs here on Cake Central. These are going on a baby shower cake. I still have to dust them with color but I think these little guys turned out so cute. TFL!!!
Bags O' Popcorn
My youngest ( this was for his 3rd b-day) loves popcorn and when I got the latest edition of ACD I saw these and had to give them a try. Let's just say that I am very content sticking with my piping skills on my cakes. I'll leave the 3D carving to the pros!! I decided to use real popcorn instead of marshmallows or gumpaste as the instructions call for. I knew he would be disappointed if it wasn't real. He loved it with the buttercream icing on it.
49Th Birthday For A Mets Fan.
Home made spice cake with home made blackberry filling. I didn't have my new inks in for my printer so I had to do a FBCT. Haven't done one of those in over a year!!! I much prefer the edible images. I think he'll like it though.
This is my second entry in the cake show. I had a blast doing this cake. I made this up at the last minute. The anchor is a hand drawn color flow piece sprayed with silver luster. The chain on the anchor was also last minute because it snapped in two spots so I made the chain to cover up the cracks!
My Version Of Lambeth Method
Okay, this is all you're going to get. I have one more tier to put on. I shouldn't have even shown you all this much. I typically wait until after the show but if I did that with this I might not want to show it . You can tell I have confidence! I have so many of you out there in Cake Central land that have taken an interest in my project that I figured I owed you all this shot.
70Th Birthday Cake
Cinnamon Buttermilk Chocolate Cake, buttercream roses, cornelli lace, edible images, silver dragees and Lambeth style border
Wedding Sheet Cake W/out The Lemon And Orange Peel
Okay, I just had to take the peels off. Thank goodness for tweezers! I think it looks so much better without the peels. Of course I'll put fresh ones on right before I deliver! Against all that I stand for!!
Us Navy Khaki Ball 2006
This is my most popular cake...marble cake with milk chocolate ganache filling. Let's not forget the rope! EVERYONE wants the rope now!!! This is also a new stringwork border I am trying. This one is doubled up from the last one I did.
Chief Petty Officer Promotion
This cake I really love! I love the new border technique I tried! I don't think I'll do boring shells again!! (I'm sure I will.) Marble cake with a milk chocolate whipped ganache filling. Fondant rope and BC tassels. My new gold dragees!! I love 'em! I am very proud of this cake!
27 Years Serving The Us Navy Retirement

Lace, Roses, And Lavender
Marshmallow fondant covered wedding cake with edible fondant pearls/silver dragees and royal icing roses. Leaves are marshmallow fondant painted with silver/pearl luster dusts!
Ribbon And Lace
This cake I worked so hard on. It's covered in MMF and is decorated with royal icing roses and finished off with edible glitter. Can't see the glitter in the picture but it sure is pretty in person! I am quite proud of this one! What do you all think!!
Tiffany Blue Cake Without The Extension Work
I found this picture and thought it looked pretty without the extension work I put on it for the show! What do ya'll think?
Bob The Builder Candy Filled Toolbox
This was obviously my first cake like this! I hope to perfect the lid eventually! I had a lot of fun doing this one though. Fudge cake with Vienna Creme filling. Covered in MMF and then airbrushed. Edible images!!!
Us Navy Retirement
Not happy with how this cake turned out. So many mistakes! They probably won't even notice so it'll do.
