Lambeth/australian Technique
This is my original creation using a variety of Lambeth and Australian techniques. I took Best of Show and center stage on the Best of Show table (signifying judges favorite out of the five Best of Show cakes chosen from different categories) in San Diego's Confections on Parade Cake Show in LaJolla, California in 2007. I like this photo better than the other I uploaded. TFL :-) Special thanks to Kerry Vincent, Wendy Kromer and Shirley Wilson for your invaluable advice in helping me create something I thought was out of my reach.

Star Wars Birthday
This is my version of a similar Star Wars cake my SIL found online. She helped me with this. It was for her little boy turning four. The Lego figures are made of fondant. Light sabres are made using spaghetti sticks. Thank you to the original creator of this cake for your inspiration!!!

New Years' Eve Wedding
This is a last minute cake order for a wedding that had to be moved up due to military deployment. Chocolate cake w/seedless raspberry filling iced in buttercream and pastillage roses. It had to travel outside unexpectedly so it got pretty wet enroute to reception site. I think it turned out okay considering. TFL!

A Three And A Half Foot Long Long Board.
This cake was an unusual request for me. It is a carrot cake filled/iced with cream cheese frosting. It weighed a ton and was relatively easy to carve and place on board ( the actual Long Board itself per customer's request) but when it came to icing it.....so star tipping it was. I think it turned out okay despite my lines being off quite a bit. TFL!

Bags O' Popcorn
My youngest ( this was for his 3rd b-day) loves popcorn and when I got the latest edition of ACD I saw these and had to give them a try. Let's just say that I am very content sticking with my piping skills on my cakes. I'll leave the 3D carving to the pros!! I decided to use real popcorn instead of marshmallows or gumpaste as the instructions call for. I knew he would be disappointed if it wasn't real. He loved it with the buttercream icing on it.

Anchors/rope
This is my second entry in the cake show. I had a blast doing this cake. I made this up at the last minute. The anchor is a hand drawn color flow piece sprayed with silver luster. The chain on the anchor was also last minute because it snapped in two spots so I made the chain to cover up the cracks!

My Version Of Lambeth Method
Okay, this is all you're going to get. I have one more tier to put on. I shouldn't have even shown you all this much. I typically wait until after the show but if I did that with this I might not want to show it . You can tell I have confidence! I have so many of you out there in Cake Central land that have taken an interest in my project that I figured I owed you all this shot.

Chief Petty Officer Promotion
This cake I really love! I love the new border technique I tried! I don't think I'll do boring shells again!! (I'm sure I will.) Marble cake with a milk chocolate whipped ganache filling. Fondant rope and BC tassels. My new gold dragees!! I love 'em! I am very proud of this cake!
