Engagement Cake
I made this engagement cake and then we got a thunderstorm which resulted in high humidity. The hearts melted down the cake and I had to recover the whole thing. I have attached photos of the disaster. Luckily the figurines didn't melt, although they did become very moist, like soft chewing gum. When I removed them to re-do the cake their arms did break. Which wasn't to hard to fix. This is the first time humidity has affected my cakes and I quicklly realised humidity is a horrible enemy of fondant.

Saddle Cake
Mud cake hay stack, covered in yellow fondant. Then using a pasta machine, cut strips to make hay strands which I then glued to stack. I carved a mud cake sponge to make saddle, including back part of seat. I used modeling chocolate to make handle in front then covered with chocolate fondant. Rope, horse shoe and message are gumpaste. I used the basketweave impression mat and some other cutter for pattern on saddle.
