Pretty In Pink

First time trying a doll cake - a co-worker asked for a doll cake for her granddaughter's birthday - but wanted a lot of pink. All BC with fondant flowers and 1 royal icing flower. Hope she likes it. I bring it to work tomorrow.

Baby Carriage

I decided to try a baby carriage for my niece's baby shower. The hood of the carriage is white chocolate - everything held in place perfectly until I transported it and the hood slipped abit - which you can tell by the photo - was disappointing that it looked alittle warped. I almost cried....my niece said she loved it. The baby is fondant. The wheels are white chocolate as well.

Teenager's Messy Bed

My friend wanted me to make a bed w/clothes all over just like her daughter's bed for her 18th birthday. White cake w/bavarian cream filling cover with BC and fondant accents...headboard white chocolate

Toronto Maple Leafs Jersey

Attempted another jersey. I tried to whiten BC to match sleeves, but ended up adding a little too much white - now body part is whiter than sleeves - arrrgh......thank goodness the lady I made it for loved it. Chocolate Fudge scratch cake covered in BC with fondant sleeves and accent. Hockey skates are chocolate done in mold.

Halloween Spider

Everyone bought in goodies for Halloween at work, I made this spider cake and someone went to feel the spider thinking it was a stuffed toy....kinda made me feel good about it.

Dragon

Mostly BC and fondant accents Cake is 3D durable lemon. Did this for a my son's BD, he plays this online game and a dragon is his character. Didn't look exactly like it, but he loved it....guess that what counts.

Hockey Jersey

I was asked to do a hockey jersey - so I attempted one. Wasn't as easy as I thought it would be....Saw a few jerseys on this site and it inspired me....The sleeves were hard. Used MMF and Buttercream. The logo is color flow. Hopefully will do better next time..

Thanksgiving Turkey

I know we've seen some really good turkeys on this site, so I thought I would try one for our Thanksgiving dinner - Carrot cake with BC and filled with creamcheese frosting. Thought I would present it in a roasting pan. Tried to get that realistic look... It didn't turn out too bad I guess.

My First Sold Wedding Cake

Client wanted a plain square ivory 3 levels with chocolate fondant bow. She didn't want much on it. I found it quite dull looking - I wasn't very happy at all with it. - didn't charge much because of that. (all double layers with fillling) Bottom layer 16" square & top layer 8" square white cakes with chocolate filling and middle layer 12" chocolate with vanilla filling. ONE HEAVY CAKE

Watering Garden

A cake for my SIL who loves gardening......made watering can with colorflow and the rest is BC. Flowers are royal icing. I filled coconut cupcakes with vanilla filling. I wish I would have done a little fence.

3Rd Anniversary Surprise Cake

I saw the top part of the cake on this site which gave me an idea, so I decided to create a two tier for my niece and her husband as a surprise. All covered in BC, fondant figures and blanket. Royal icing lilies and fondant roses. Alot of work making flowers, but it didn't turn out too bad.

Relaxing In The Bathtub

My niece/goddaughter's birthday, I thought I would surprise her with this cake. I saw some bathtub cakes on this site and thought this would be an ideal cake for her since she enjoys bubble baths. The cake is the 3d-durable recipe from this site and BC with fondant accents. It was fun making it, thought I didn't do too bad...just gotta keep practicing!!!

Hanging Out In The Pool

My niece loves the pool - I made an ice cream cake and surrounded with lady fingers colored abit....tried doing fondant for people and balls....hard work....need alot of learning on that part.

Wilton Course 2

Not my first cake, but first time doing Royal Icing Flowers and, color flow - awesome ... loved it. Looking forward to class 3

Dora Cake For Niece's 2Nd Birthday

I tried making fondant but screwed up and that went in the garbage - so I made a whipped topping for the pink and the yellow is creamcheese - bottom layer carrot cake, middle the recipe from this site 3d durable wedding cake and the top is the same except I used chocolate pudding in recipe. I was disappointed with the turnout...I try so hard, but think I need lessons.

Purse For Nikki

Birthday cake for my daughter's friend. First attempt at a purse. Not as easy as I thought it would be. I decorated in BC and used fondant for handles and zipper. I used the Wilton's fondant. One of these days I will get brave and make the MMF.

Clowning Around

Tomorrow is my nephew's first birthday and I made him this clown cake, it's chocolate and vanilla - all in buttercream. To go with this cake I will also dress as a clown - should be fun!

Football

My nephew-in-law loves football - made him a cake using 3D cake recipe from this site, covered and buttercream - I need a lot of practice on writing.

saw deer cakes on the site and decided to try for myself...I had to hurry up and do this in a couple hours- baked the cake night before and had to quickly cut, shape and decorate while my husband was out - was for his birthday

Rainbow Trout - The One That Got Away

My son loves fishing so I thought a fish cake would be appropriate for his birthday. He thought it was awesome. Wish I would of done a better job - I still have lots to learn. Like they say practice makes perfect - well almost perfect. This is a lemon cake with BC frosting and gum paste for fins.
