Pink And Brown Baby Shower
I did this cake for the mom-to-be from my "Frog Cake" shower! Her baby is now 4 months old and her brother is having a baby girl. She requested I match the cake as closely as possible to the invitation (top left corner). She also wanted a big chocolate bow with cascading streamers. She requested a second smaller cake that will be frozen and taken to the hospital when the baby is born and eaten then! (Top right). All MMF with royal icing accents painted with vodka and disco dust.

Wedding Gown Cake
I was inspired by ellepal's gorgeous wedding gown cake last weekend to make one of my own - this one patterned after my own wedding dress. It's a 6, 8, 10, 12, covered in MMF with MMF bows and pearls. The embroidery and scalloping at the bottom are royal painted with super pearl. Satin ribbons around the bottom of each tier and silk flowers on top. The inset picture shows how the tiers line up at the back. I'm really happy with this one!

Lindt Truffle Cake
Since I was also making my sister's wedding cake, she came up with this concept for the groom's cake to make it less decorating work for me. It's Killer Chocolate Cake with chocolate frosting. The sides are encrusted with toasted chopped walnuts and the top is all Lindt Lindor Truffles. I don't think there was a slice left -- it's a great way to make a beautiful cake without working hard!

My Nemesis -- The Sheet Cake
Exactly the kind of cake I don't like to do. But my church wanted it for a staff member moving out of state, so I did it with a smile (sort of). They wanted half chocolate, half vanilla, and the chocolate baked up taller than the vanilla so I pretended it was a book cake to make the unevenness look "on purpose".

Chocolate Fondant With Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Just a simple 6" chocolate cake with vanilla cream filling, covered with chocolate fondant over chocolate frosting, encircled by a white fondant ribbon and surrounded by chocolate covered strawberries. The customer asked for a "masculine" birthday cake with the above elements, so I hope she got what she wanted!

Garden And Ducks
Here's a fun one. The clues I was given to work with were: baby pink, mint green, ribbons, flowers, garden, and ducks. Ducks were particularly special to the mother-to-be. So this is how I incorporated everything, with some help from the great folks in the forums. It's all MMF with tinted piping gel for the water. Had a ton of fun with it!

Graduation
A graduation cake for a school whose colors are black, orange and white. They wanted chocolate icing and said I could use that instead of black (thank goodness!). The emblem is a FBCT, diploma is MMF, cap is the top of a jumbo cupcake covered with MMF. Mortar is a piece of cardboard wrapped with MMF and the tassel is MMF pushed through a garlic press! I was really happy with this one except for the writing.

Bad Fondant Day
Well, just about everything that could go wrong, went wrong with this one. It was supposed to be 4 tiers, but my oven broke and I didn't get to make the bottom tier (was going to be 12"). Good thing it was mostly just for practice and to play with my new impression mat and button molds from NewCake. So, this is a 10, 8, and 6", covered with MMF. The pearls and buttons are both MMF painted with super pearl luster dust. Roses are MMF too.

Elmo
This was a labor of love for my niece! It's two stacked sheet cakes, a 11x15 and 9x13. The Elmo is the one from the party invitation -- I scanned it and scaled it to the right size, cut it out, laid it on the iced cake and traced around it with a toothpick. I used the pieces of cake that I levelled off the top to give Elmo some depth, then used the grass tip all over the whole thing. Eyes and nose are fondant.
