The diamond is white chocolate and brushed with super pearl. The band is findant/gumpaste and brushed with super gold. The pillow is covered with MMF and airbrushed with super pearl. This was for a 12 year old's bday party. They were having one of those solve a mystery parties and it had something to do with a diamond ring.
For a dentists's bday. Not quite as good as I wanted it, but it was a hit! The teeth are MMF and the cake itself is BC.
Call The Exterminator!!!!
The bday boy is an exterminator and they wanted bugs all over the cake. But then she said to do whatever I wanted to, so this is what they got. They reall enjoyed it. The ants are RI.
Finally had a chance to do one of these. A little easier than I thought. All BC and wired antlers covered in RI. Carved from 2 - 1/4 sheets. Thanks to newbeebaker for passing on the "how-to" and some good tips from Boween too.
Wizard Of Oz
Trying to get my photo to load?!? This isn't quite what I had in my head, but it'll work. The shoes are gumpaste with red sugar sprinkles. The house is the 3D pan and the witches legs are MMF. I had to get a rainbow in there somewhere, so that's why the sides look like they do. And a big thanks to Grammasue for passing on her shoe template!
This came off of one of the Mario Brothers' games. I used my Kopykake projector for this one. I had airbrushed the background color, but it cracked really bad. So, I had to come back and filll in the blue and green to cover the cracks. What a pain!! It was a big hit though!
Tiara & Pillow
The tiara is following a pattern by carrielynnfields. The pillow is an 8" square covered with MMF.
A big THANKS to rockstarcakes for his help on this cake. The cake is 2 - 6" squares, a 6" round and the Wilton sports ball pan. Covered in MMF and airbrushed. I need a new camera, because it really looked so much better in person!!
Another fire truck inspired by the many pics here on CC. The ladders are RI and the wheels are choco donuts. Learned alot from this one!! It's cut from an 11x15 and is actually sitting on another sheet cake. Familyfun.com has a good diagram on how to cut the truck from a sheet cake.
This was for a family reunion. Each color represented the mom and her 3 daughters. The straps are gumpaste and the flowers are RI. The print was made with a stencil and the color was blotted on.
Another loopy bow cake. She wanted pink icing and a brown bow with brown polka dots. The bow was kinda plain, so I used a Wilton tool that makes impressions and cuts out shapes. I used the cut out shapes for the dots. The bow is 50/50 gumpaste and fondant.
Fairy And Butterflies
For my DD 6th bday. The fairy is gumpaste. The face was made with a mold. Her wings and the butterfly wings are rice paper printed out on the computer. The butterfly bodies are RI.
The seashells are a 50/50 mix of gumpaste and fondant, airbrushed with pearl luster dust and then dry brushed with assorted luster dusts. The coral is RI. I had to make my own molds since my local store did not carry a mold for large seashells. Once again, sculpey saved my day!!
The cake is covered with MMF. Fondant spout and handle. The pink is airbrushed. RI flowers.
For a first bday. The antennae on the large ladybug are fondant. The antennae on the smash cake are chocolate sticks.
Full sheet cake with mini BC roses and rice paper butterflies. The wings were colored with edible markers, the bodies are RI and the antennae are stamens.
Spring Flowers And Dragonflies
This is a 6", 8" and 10" round covered in MMF. The 8" is a dummy. The dragonflies have rice paper wings and RI bodies. The flowers are also made of RI: pansies, sweet peas, apple blossoms and drop flowers.
This is a big cake. The top layer is the 16" oval and the bottom layer is the 13" oval. The eggs are cupcakes. The handle is dried fondant and then wrapped with sparkly pipe cleaners. It was made to match the party invitation.
I wanted to do a 3D cake like Jenn123. Her cake is awesome!! But not only did I not have the time, but I only charged for 1/2 a sheet. So, the image looks like like her 3D banjo. The strings are dry spaghetti and the rest is BC.
The logo is a FBCT. The photo is a laminated picture. The handwriting is really bad!! I was trying to make it look like an autographed picture - guess I won't be doing that again!!
I was asked to do this on Wed and they needed it Friday in the am. It was for a Women's History and Awareness Function. And since it was the day before St. Pat's day, they were going with a green theme. This was my first teapot and I sure learned alot - like not do it in 36 hours!!! It's the Wilton sports ball pan and a 6" round in the middle. The cake itself is covered with MMF. The handle and spout are MMF with fixodent (that's all I had on hand for a last minute job). Then it was sprayed with pearl luste
High School Musical
The image is a laminated picture. The curtains are BC and the letters are MMF. My writing was really bad on this one!! I told DH after this one that I was going to get an edible image printer and he said sure and he's going to get a 20" flat screen monitor. Hmmmm....
You're How Old
When I first saw the one that TeeSue did, I loved it!! But mine is not as cute as hers though. This was for a son who says his mother is older than dirt.
This was a big one. The head is both sides of the Wilton sports ball pan and a 6" in the middle. The boddy has 2 - 8" layers in the middle and the Betty Crocker Bake-n-Fill on each end. The hat and mittens are gumpaste. The nose, scarf and buttons are MMF. This was for a first bday. I forgot my camera, so the mother took a pic for me. Unfortunately she didn't give me one of the mini snowman smash cake.
