Not too often you get to do a cake for someone turning 100! Each layer was based on things the bday bot loved. He loved his sunflowers. He loved his vegetable garden. He loved the little cabin he built for his grandkids to play in. The cabin was decorated to look just like he always painted it. The smoke coming out of the chimney shows he is 100 (that idea came from carrielynnfields).
This is my second one and finally got the support right. The original design came form Krissy_kze. The "tee" is a bouquet collar duct taped to a Wilton plastic support. The tee was then covered with fondant. The golf ball is the Wilton sports ball and then covered with fondant.
I overbooked on the weekend for this wedding. I had the cakes iced but only had 1.5 hours left to stack and decorate. I wound up not being able to put all the details on the cake that I wanted. The MOB was pleased, but still waiting to hear from the bride. All bc with silver dragees. 6 - 8 - 10(hex) - 12 -14 rounds
