AI've been wanting to try different fonts of lettering for my cakes but not sure how to go about doing that. I've read to use Royal Icing and pipe it over the font I want covered in wax paper. Freezing it then transferring it on the cake? Is that the best way?

No need to freeze, just let dry overnight on the counter. Always make double what you need- something nearly always breaks!

AYou could also make letters out of gumpaste. Print out the font you want, adhere to clean cardboard, & cut out. Place on top of gumpaste and cut with an exact knife. I often let the gumpaste harden a little to make them easier to cut. I wouldn't do this for small letters though.
