Hi everyone!

I hope everyone who celebrated Halloween last Friday had a great night. It rained here in California and we thought that would keep trick or treaters at bay but it didn't. We had more kids than we have ever had before! I had just one cake that week and here it is!

Everything is edible. The writing on the sides says "Something Wicked This Way Comes" and on top it says "Quoth The Raven "Nevermore" The cake was vanilla covered with chocolate frosting and crushed cookies. It was a huge hit!

I have one this week too but got done with it after dark and don't have photos yet! I'll share next Friday!

ACat you can't keep kids away when they there is free candy involved. Love the your cake as always.

Gold Star Mom love the cookies.

I am only baking cupcakes this weekend. Next week I have the daunting task of making my sons wedding cake and the grooms cake.

Looking forward to seeing all the cakes this week.

:) Marian

Gold Star Mom, Love the finger cookies! Creepy and wonderful at the same time! We have a big weekend coming up. Today is our 27th Anniversary and we are headed to our younger daughters house to celebrate it and my hubby's birthday (a week early) with all of the kids. The cake I had this week was for my hubby...it's a 49ers helmet. Turned out pretty good and he's wicked happy but you all know how it is...you keep wishing that this was better, or that had turned out better...we are SO hard on ourselves! LOL!

Autumnwind..those are SOOOO cute! I might have to do that one of these years. Just made me laugh!  The zebra is fun too. I thought it was going to be hard but once I did one cake like that I realized that it's actually fun and easy but makes a big impact! I like how you did one tier pink and one white.

Hello Everyone,

Happy Friday!!! I love all the cakes posted, the Halloween ones are spook-tacular!! :-D

I just finished up a cake for my daughter's end of the season party tomorrow. She plays soccer and her team name this year was The Navy Seals...so cute. Anyway, here it is...all done before 10:00, an absolute miracle!!!

I made this cake for the end of the season party for my daughter's soccer team. Chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and Oreo filling with buttercream frosting and fondant decorations. TLF

Close up of the killer soccer seal!!!

Last week I did a cake for my brother-in-law's 40th. He loves to fish at the lake with his 6 pack of Bud Light, so this is what he got.

I made this cake for my brother-in-law who loves to go fishing with his 6 pack of Bud Light. Chocolate Cake with Ding Dong Filling and Chocolate Ganache and fondant decorations. TFL

Both cakes were a ton of fun to make and went surprisingly well. I love it when a cake just comes together.

Hope you all have a fantastic Friday and cakeland treats you well!!!

We had dinner with some friends, so I decided to make some cake bites last minute. I love the Navy Seals cake - I need to come up with something for my little Kickin' Cutie. Her end of year soccer party is next weekend.

Vanilla and chocolate cake bites decorated for fall.

Good morning everyone! So great to come in on Saturday morning and see new cakes!

Morgan, can't wait to see the finished cake! Please remember to share with us?

Mom2twogirlz, LOVE the fishing hole cake. And I'm sure the Navy Seals cake was a huge hit too! Did you have a cutter for the seal or was that all hand done?

Julia...that lion! Wow! But it's your cupcakes that have me giggling. Especially the eyeballs...kinda a family joke here for H'ween since my hubby lost an eye as a kid and now wears a patch. We kid each other every year with eyeball candy saying we "found" his eye. Sounds like we are terrible but he does it too...in fact, he started it. We play around with the "you'll shoot your eye out" thing on A Christmas Story too...he has shirts and everything. Can't wait to show him your cupcakes!

Melmar...Wow! How totally elegant! And you just threw them together last minute eh? LOL. Really gorgeous!

Well, off to karate and then down to the kids house for the weekend. SO happy my mom lives almost next door so she can house and kitty sit! Makes these frequent trips of ours so much easier!

I agree, that seal is adorable!

Here is the wedding cake I've been working on:

I was worried that I wouldn't get it done as I spent most of the last few days in and out of hospital with gestational hypertension, but managed in the end.  Now it's out of the way I'm sure my blood pressure is better anyway!

It's just a little 4/6/8 plain vanilla cake.

Hi there. Thank you so much? They were both a ton of fun to make. The deal is cut using a stencil I made. I just photocopied the team banner into the size I wanted into cardstock and cut it out. It takes a little practice, but isn't too hard once you get the hang of what will make it looks alive. My style has been inspired by Corrie of Corrie's Cakes. She is my idol of fondant cutouts!!

Thanks Cat. Yeah - I had scraps and frosting in the freezer, and wafers and the sprinkles in the cupboard. I think I only made 24 total, so they went together pretty quick. It helped that one of the kids was in school that day - she only goes twice a week. Those become my prime baking and decorating days!

Lizzie - Wow! I can't imagine the stress of being in and out of the hospital with a cake due! It turned out great!

Thanks guys :-)

Natka, the roses are gumpaste, and fortunately I'd started them well in advance so didn't have to worry too much about getting them done.  At least I don't have any more cakes due (except my daughter's birthday cake in December).

A little late to the party, but this a cake I did to take to my work on Halloween. I had made a thread previously about the cake collapsing on me. I was able to save the head but had to re-make the cake. This is the remade cake.
