AI make my own fondant using MFF. I just made a white wedding cake with pink roses. But the white is more of a cream or off white. I also used my air brush to spray the pearl sheen all over the cake to give it a sparkle sheen. What could I do to make the fondant a pure wedding white in the future? Thanks in advance for your help!
AThere is white gel coloring. Not sure if that would help. I've never noticed my mmf being off white. Sorry I couldn't help much. I always use clear vanilla.

Cassie-thank you for responding. I always use clear vanilla in my fondant as well. I've tried the white Americolor before & it was really runny & didn't work very well. I have attached a photo of the cake I am talking about.
ADo you use butter in the recipe? I do, and I think that contributes to the off white color. I'm going to substitute crisco next time and see if that makes a difference.

AAside from the butter, marshmallows are also not stark white. They have an off white colour to them so this might also be a factor to your off white fondant. Maybe try using an all shortening, marshmallows and powder sugar recipe? Might give you a whiter fondant.
Dchinda, I also make MFF and it comes out off white, probably due to the butter and milk/cream. I love working with it, but it's not white enough for me either.

I don't use any butter in my fondant, but when I need white-white, I make sure to buy the name brand marshmallows, they are usually whiter than the off brands, and I do use the white food coloring. It will get it white.

That's true ey! I use walmart brand marshmallows and they're a bit off white/ivory. When you say name brand, do you mean the Kraft Jet Puff? I thought by using it you'll get a very soft/sticky fondant so i've never tried it before. So it's ok? You're fondant is workable? I'll def give it a try! :)
AThank you everyone for responding! I use Michelle Foster's fondant not marshmallow fondant that uses gelatin, milk, corn syrup, butter, glycerine, vanilla, salt & powdered sugar. Shazza-I will have to give that recipe a try that uses crisco instead of butter & see if it makes a difference. I am just confused as to why 2 tablespoons of butter would make that much of difference in the color of the fondant.

I've used both with no problem, Kraft Jet Puff and walmart brand, even dollar store brand. I haven't noticed any difference, but if it were sticky, I'd just add more powdered sugar. :-)
