Lauren you need to get yourself a laser cut stencil of your sig so that it is cost affective and not so labour intensive. And don't be shy. Stick it smack bang on the top or the side of the wedding cake. After all if they want a freebie you should also get one- free advertising.
James either you are really naive or I am really cynical but having worked around doctors most of my life I would say that most of them go in to the profession for the money or the community standing that it brings. And most radiologists will admit that they don't like patients and that was one of the reasons (the main one being the money) that they specialised as they did. Very low patient contact, high paying speciality.
This happened to me the other day, but it wasn't a bride. A woman ordered two dozen cookies for her daughter's birthday party and called me on her way to pick them up.
Woman: Did you give me a bonus?
Me: Bonus?
Woman: Back home, any time you buy something from anyone they always give you a gift. So what am I getting?
Me: ....
I gave her the cookies the ordered and that was that. God, people are the worst.

Funny, but true story, I went back home for a wedding in January. It was a super elaborate over the top wedding so I instantly knew where the cake was going to be from. The cake was okay, definitely not what I expected, but that was more on the brides design preference, rather than the bakery. It was an all buttercream cake. What was leaning AGAINST the buttercream on the bottom tier for all, including the photographer, to see? Their business card! Are you kidding me?! This well known bakery that is supposed to be THE best place in town is putting their paper business card ON a wedding cake?!?! Taaaaacky!
Leaving their business card in that way might be an indication of declining business. It doesn't matter how great or how famous they might be, competition continues to grow rapidly. Just look at all the new people popping on here daily, announcing they are now in business. (And by the way, can we tell them the steps to go through, and answer their cake questions, too.)

Hey, watch what you say about radiologists, my dad is one…!
Radiology is one of the most difficult specialties to enter, it requires one additional year of training above and beyond what surgeons do. They are extremely bright people. Trying to get into a radiology residency is like trying to get into an ivy league school.
Maybe he's the exception, but as for his personality, you won't find a more humble, caring, not-interested-in-money person on the planet.
My 2 cents.

I get it, times are hard and in the world of Pinterest telling everyone they can make up to $50,000 a year in the state of tx baking cookies out of their home, home bakers are a dime a dozen, but for gods sake, leave your card on the table, not against the actual icing! Might as well sneak some surprise cards in between the layers where the filling is so some guests can feel special, too! Lol!!
We don't know who set the card in that position. It could have been a thoughtless bakery worker who was there to help set up the cake, or a venue employee saw it on the table and propped it against the cake. Or maybe it was on the table in a cardholder but someone swiped the holder and left the card. Too many people around for us to know...

I'd ask her if she was going to give me a tip, since you give those when you buy food at a restaurant. Hahaha! Bonus...

I knew who it was :)
AThey were pretty late setting up. They were still putting it together when the guests arrived. Stuff happens, bakeries do things I wouldn't do and vice versa!
See Lauren, it is done, but go one better and make your business card out of icing so that it is edible.
Not to insult your Dad, Norasmum, and it was not meant as an insult, just as an observation. We have had friends who are radiologists over the years and they have spent many hours at our house and altruism was not on their minds, believe me. From my observations I would say that your Dad was the exception rather than the rule. And Yes, they are extremely intelligent people, and I personally think that is what causes a lot of their inability to deal with people such as patients on an everyday level. I use to call them 'pickled boys' as they had not aged socially. One friend loved the term and said it was so true. He had been so far ahead of his peers that he didn't have friends growing up and was only learning to socialise at 32 years of age.
AMy hubbies good friends are both dentists, and lemme tell you, they are not in that field for helping mankind. They're feeding their hunting, sport shooting, and cigar hobbies.
AEvery profession probably has a pretty good division of people who want to help people and others who just look at it as a job. My father went to seminary when I was in high school, and I can tell you firsthand that there are plenty of ministers who are really out there trying to help people, and plenty others who are in it for the ego rush of people thinking they have a direct line to God, and others who are really, really interested in what the offering plate has in it each week. No profession is immune as long as human beings are how they are.

I used to work retail, and so did my roommate. She came home from work one day, stomped into the apartment and yelled "The general public sucks!" I totally understood what she meant.
My favorite is, "Never underestimate the stupidity of the public". Because MOST OF THEM ARE. And even after you explain things some of them still give you that bedfuddled over-my-head-and-out-the-window look that, depending on my mood, either amuses me or causes even more steam to come out of my ears.

Amen.
