I agree.  That is not the way to begin and celebrate a marriage, even if it's halloween.

I am with OP though...WHY????? So gross, but so well done! YUCK! I couldn't eat it. I won't even make a pregnant belly cake because the thought of slicing that makes me sick. :)

Get over it people,! To each is thier own. This was a cake artist that made them for her own wedding. So she can do what ever she wanted. She is an insainly tallented artist.

We are not criticizing the art, had it been for a Halloween party it would have been super cute.  And yeah, it is incredibly well executed.  I just don't know why the macabre at a WEDDING!

If it were my wedding, I would have cut it with something awesome like a machete or chainsaw.

Here's another article featuring the same cake along with a photo of the happy couple. I think seeing how much it looks like them makes it even creepier! Amazing likeness, very skilled work. http://thestir.cafemom.com/love_***/163589/craziest_wedding_cake_you_have

You'll have to replace *** with a 3 letter word for what leads to reproduction. The article has nothing to do with that. Similar to the other article, but with photos of the couple.

AWhy? Because the person who made it for her own wedding is an extremely talented decorator and it's her right to make any style of cake she pleases. Recently, a very very high profile cake decorator, judge, tv show host, headband model got caught saying some rude and unsolicited comments about another interesting wedding cake, which was also made by another high profile decorator. Awesomely, the clients caught wind of it, and a lot of other decorators as well, and she was pretty much staked and burned. Why...why ask why? What does it matter? Im sure you're just curious, but I don't get it.

I don't mean creepy like it's a bad thing. It's what she was going for! I'm in awe of her talent. I've never seen a portrait in cake, at least not like that.

My wedding theme and cake topper was totally different than hers but was uniquely us and related to an interest we shared, too. I am so totally not a horror film fan (they give me nightmares and I hear things around every corner), but they are. If I had her talent, which I could never aspire to (I'm at the canned frosting and star tip level currently), my cake would be more likely to be a bust of the happy couple smiling and leaning their heads together, but that's my taste, not theirs. :)

Gee. seems like it would be the perfect wedding cake for when Dethany and Guy (from On The Fastrack) finally tie the knot.

I wonder what part if any they saved for the first anniversary? It could be interesting having a pair of eyeballs staring out of your freezer at you for the next year.

The skill and talent involved to execute (chortle) that cake just blows me away!!

Would I ever have anything like that  no way! (even if I had the mad skills to do that)

I think it would be quite confronting and distressing for the parents and older guests, but then maybe they are all keen horror movie fans! Hahaha

Each to their own, and wow do I admire her sculpting skills!!!!!
