Hello here :)

I just want to know if sugar cookies are better to decorate without baking soda in the recipe or it doesn't matter? what the consistency of my cookies will be like without baking soda? the reason I ask these questions is because to the best of my knowledge baking soda makes the dough grow in the oven that may cause the cookies to lose their shape and have a ball shape on the top which might be difficult to decorate with fondant or icing.  I've never tried making cookies without baking soda.

and yes, I don't have experience decorating cookies as you may have noticed. However, I'm planing some Halloween-decorated cookies for my family this year.

Thanks in advance.

My recipe calls for baking powder not baking soda. The powder is a little less acidic! I decorate my cookies just fine with no problems!
