How Do I Cover A Dummy Head With Fondant?
Decorating By Squidgey Updated 12 Mar 2013 , 6:53pm by Squidgey
AI am making a spiderman cake for my son's 3rd birthday, and will be using a polystyrene head (please don't judge, I am not skilled enough to make it out of cake without it collapsing!)... Not sure where to start? Do I cover it in two parts? I.e. front and then back? Any help would be most appreciated?
AJust go for it! If it doesn't work one way, ey, it's styrofoam! You can just peel it off and try it the other way! Just apply a thin layer of shortening to the head before you start.

Have you thought of using rice krispie treat/mixture to mould into shape...the basic recipe is rice krispies, marshmallows, syrup and butter. ?
Good luck
AThank you for your helpful responses... Fingers crossed, will let you know how I get on!!!
