Just got a order for this cake: http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5460/7427511754_7b3af58b10_z.jpg

1. Where can I find this kind of monogram or how to make it?

2. How do I get the texture on the little squares?

3. How do I make the chain/rings on the LOVE key chain?

i just posted about this very design but i am NOT suggesting that you purchase this--i don't know for sure but i doubt it is legal to sell these logos--but if they are considered a parody--???

i mean you can't eat a real purse--i don't know.

they have a lot of satisfied customers...that might be hearing a knock on their door very soon....

ABefore accepting this order, make sure the customer provides written permission from LV authorizing the duplication of their copyrighted logo. Otherwise you will need to suggest an alternative design that does not contain copyrighted elements, so you won't have to worry about the monogram.

The defendant won in court, but they still had to pay $200,000 in legal fees. LV does not mess around when it comes to protecting their IP, since it is basically all they have.

i think the edible cake purse is a parody

selling lv, gucci & coco logos on a rolling pin? that's out there on a skinny limb on a windy day

too confusing

as i said--not suggesting anyone buy it!!! just a pure timing thing that i saw that exact item minutes before this post

over the years i've made a few lv, coach, coco & maybe a gucci purse cake for family, friends & a charity but i didn't mass produce an entire business line based on it

wow so it is a parody because lv lost--wow doesn't seem right esp since lv makes doggie stuff but parody is the loophole, very costly sour grapey loophole

thanks jason, very interesting

they sued an irish or scottish company too, surely more than that but that's all i know of

Just a note if you do proceed with the cake - it's Louis Vuitton not Vouitton, it's just a small detail but an important one.

The charm was a limited edition, you can buy a second hand one here for $2160

OK first of all, she didn't ask about legalities.  She asked about how to make that cake.

There are several ways to make it, the texture on the squares are texture mats.  There are many out there for leather.  Try Global Sugar Art.

The zipper is a mold:

The easiest way to do the logo is to use Designer Stencil's Love mold and modify it:

Or add the LV logo with this:

I hope I was helpful!

OOPS! Missed that it's not available thru Amazon, if you google it I'm sure it's available other places.

I saw those pins!  They make me nervous, I have crap luck using textures from pins.

Yeah they aren't cheap!  But the designs come out flawless, not as the picture is.

AI made an LV purse (on my page) the logo I printed and cut out then I traced it on foam paper, using an exacto knife I cut out the logo I then glued it on a couple leftover square pieces of foam making it big enough to use as a stamp. U may want to make ur own stamp use it on gum paste let dry and paint with edible gold paint

Thanks for all the feedback.

I am not interested in the rolling pins with the LV logo, I was wondering where would I find a rolling pin that makes the texture found around the cake, on the brown squares? Thats what I was referring to.

As for the number 25 using the disco dust sounds like a great idea, but how do I put it on? Do I brush it on like luster dust?? And what support would I use to stick it in the cake, toothpicks, dowels?

it's the same rolling pin--just have to cut out the squares you want

but they are ridiculously expensive--i was shocked to find them

other than that i think i would just look around the kitchen and see what i could gather up to mimic that texture

maybe use two or three items like cross stitch fabric/plastic plus a certain meat tenderizer

where you mix & match and just start scanning for textured items

maybe the top of a jewelry box or the most random thing might have that exact pattern

a light cover or whatever --you just gotta find it -- it's like playing 'concentration'
