If I don't use the 1M tip, I frost my cupcakes like this. Take a big dollop of frosting and put it on top of the cupcake. Take a small offset spatula, and hold it against the side and angled in at the top and swirl your cupcake to get the high sides. Then do a small swirl in the center to get the dip. I hope that makes sense!

I see so many gorgeous, piped, cupcake frosting designs and then I almost always end up doing my personal favorite:  The 1M swirl

 

The 1M swirl with 2 colors always gets a lot of compliments and is super-easy and fast.

I LOVE the 2D tip, it just makes my SMBC look super feathery and fluffy... until a chunk of raspberry gets stuck in the tip...icon_lol.gif Then I remember why I made a note to use the 1M tip the last time I made the same mistake. SMH.
