I used to make a small batch of Marshmallow fondant for the grandkids
to use like play dough. I've forgotten how to make it. Help, please.
Opal
8 oz marshmallows melted with 1 tsp water, knead in 1 lb. PS. Thats the MMF recipe halved.
8 oz of marshmallows is equal to about 4 cups. For the rest of the ingredients just half them if your original recipe was for 1 lb (16 oz)marshmallows
Thanks, ladies. The one I used was for a very small amount. I
remember it had 1 cup of mini marshmallows, 1 3/4 to 2 cups 10x sugar,
and I don't know how much water. Does this sound familar? It was just perfect for them to use. Opal
Was going to post this help, but found a few small batch fondant threads already here ;)
Here's what I did. I quartered the MMF recipe: 4oz mini marshmallows, 2 tsp. water, 8oz powdered sugar. Microwave for 30 seconds, stir until all marshmallows are melted. Add 6-8oz powdered sugar, stirring in small amounts until too stiff to stir, then turning out onto kneading surface. Coat surface and hands well with shortening, and knead in small amounts of powdered sugar (I sifted it in, to speed smoothness) until it is no longer tacky and holds its own shape without beginning to sag.
Yielded 11oz ball of fondant.
