Snickerdoodle Cookies

A Snickerdoodle by any other name would taste as sweet, but wouldn’t be near as fun to say. A simple cookie with a whimsical name, add this one to your recipe box becasue it’s bound to become a family favorite.

Snickerdoodle Cookies

Ingredients

1½ teaspoons cream of tartar
2¾ cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
⅛ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1½ cups granulated sugar
1 cup butter
2 eggs
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
1 tablespoon cinnamon
4 tablespoons granulated sugar

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F, prepare a baking sheet with cooking spray, set aside.
Combine cream of tartar, flour, baking powder and salt, set aside.
Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla, scraping the bowl as necessary.
Incorporate dry ingredients into wet. Refrigerate dough for 1 hour.
Combine remaining sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
Roll dough into 1-inch balls and roll in cinnamon sugar, place on baking sheet.
Bake 8 minutes or until slightly golden.
