These are super easy cookies that can be made ahead and saved for anything during the holidays! I have made them with different types of nuts based on what I had on hand, people’s likes/dislikes/allergies, etc. Also quite tasty when the nuts are omitted
Stained glass windows
Ingredients
- 12 oz chocolate chips
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1 bag colored mini marshmallows
Instructions
- Melt chocolate chips in butter; let cool. Mix in walnuts, then marshmallows. Form 2 logs about 1 ½ inches in diameter in wax paper. Chill 15 minutes in refrigerator then reform and return to freezer or fridge. Cut into slices when needed.
My mom has made church windows for as long as I can remember, and I love them!! Great recipe. Even though they are so easy, I have never tried them. It's just something that reminds me of 'Christmas', so I just wait patiently each year for my Mom's party!!
Oh yeah...my Mom sprinkles coconut on top!
