Supreme Butter Cream

This is a not too sweet butter cream recipe. Once you try it, you won’t want to use anything else!

Supreme Butter Cream


  • 3/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/4 c. meringue powder
  • 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 4 c. (sifted) powdered sugar
  • 2 c. sweetex or hi-ratio shortening
  • 1/2 c. oleo or white marjorine
  • 1-2 tsp. clear vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. clear butter flavor


  1. Add granulated sugar to boiling water. Boil and stir occasionally for about 3 minutes.
  2. Cool.
  3. Add meringue powder and whisk until dissolved. Pour into mixing bowl. Add powdered sugar, sweetex, oleo and flavors. Mix on low speed at least 10 minutes.
