do you know how to alter the recipe to make it pipeable to make decorations?
I altered it a bit to combine element an ingredient so many other recipes have...egg white. This gumpaste was like working with satin! Although it was incredibly soft, I could roll it paper thin and it dried perfectly. I was hesitant at first, thinking there was no way this stuff could possibly work.
I made a double batch and added 1 heaping tablespoon of meringue powder and 1/4 teaspoon lemon extract(optional. I just don't like the smell of gum trag)
Can I ask what Gum Tragacanth is? I've been using Wilton's premade gumpaste and I have NOT been happy with it. Even mixing it 50/50 with fondant hasn't worked for me. It wants to crack & fade :o( So, I thought I'd try to make some on my own.....help?
Hi , all4cake , did you add the gum trag anyway or did you sub the meringue power and lemon for it? Also did you add the egg white as your extra.
