Tres Leche Cake

This is an easy recipe I messed around with it until I came up with something like a Tres Leche cake I had tasted in a restaurant once. It is very moist and sort of pudding-like and taste delicious. It’s a family favorite.

Tres Leche Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 butter recipe cake mix
  • 1 package cream cheese (8oz)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 14oz can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 12oz can of evaporated milk
  • 12oz milk (you can use 1% or 2% if you like)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease your 10X13 pan.
  2. Place the cake mix, cream cheese, eggs, water, sugar, milk and extracts into mixing bowl. Blend well until smooth(until you see no lumps of cream cheese).
  3. Bake until golden brown and toothpick inserted in the middle comes back clean.
  4. Place the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk & regular milk in a blender and mix well. Remove cake from the oven and pour the milk mixture over the cake very slowly until it is absorbed by the cake. Place the cake back in the oven for 5 minutes until the mixture is “baked” into the cake.
  5. Let the cake cool slightly at room temperature. Then place in the fridge overnight.
