Chocolate cake truffles
I had lots of leftover cake from trimming a 3 tiered cake. it seemed a waste to not use the leftover cake. I made this recipe and they were the first things to go at the Birthday party for which I baked.
Chocolate cake truffles
Ingredients
- Leftover cake trimmings
- 1Tbl. nutella per 1 cup cake trimmings
- 1 11.5 oz bad bittersweet chocolate
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- white chocolate (for decoration)
Instructions
- Using your hands combine cake and nutella really well.
- Form small, truffle-like, balls with the “cake dough.”
- Place truffles on cookie sheet lined with parchment.
- Heat cream in heavy sauce pan. When it begins to simmer pour over bittersweet chocolate. Stir until combined. Pour over the truffles.
- gently melt white chocolate in a squeeze bottle (I use a pot of very warm water). Use white chocolate to decorate, zig-zag over the truffles.
