pre-heat oven to 325 degrees
spray 9×13 pan with a bakers spray

Bananna Nut Cake W/Strawberries


  • 2 1/3 cups of cake flour
  • 1 1/4 cups of sugar
  • 2/3 cup of shortning
  • 2/3 cup of buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup of mashed bananna
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 cup of pecans
  • dash of salt
  • strawberries- 1 pint

  • 1 package of strawberry glaze
  • 2 banannas
  • whipped cream


  1. Mix all dry ingredients(flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt). Add buttermilk, shortning, eggs, banannas, and nuts. Mix all ingredients on low speed until mixed. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 min. or untill toothepic comes out clean. Let completely cool. Cut cake in half. Layer sliced banannas and strawberries and top with strawberry glaze. Replace top half of cake and do the same with the layering of banannas and strawberries. Top with strawberry glaze. Ice with whipped cream and sprinkle with pecans. Refrigerate untill ready to serve.
