Black Velvet Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Almond slivers, slightly toasted
  • 12 oz. chocolate chips
  • 1 devil’s food cake mix
  • 1 package chocolate instant pudding (3.5 oz.)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle 1/2 cup almond sliver and 1/2 cup chocolate chips in the bottom of greased 10 inch tube pan. Set aside the remaining almonds and chocolate chips. Place remaining ingredients in mixer bowl. Beat 4 minutes. Fold in remaining chocolate chips and almonds. Pour in prepared pan. Bake @ 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes. Cool 15 minutes then remove from pan. Serve with topping of whipped cream if desired.
