Chocolate Creme Puff Filling

A friend of mine works for Krispie Kreme donuts and he gave me this recipe. It’s amazingly awesome!! It taste just like a chocolate cream filled donut from KK! Love it, and hope you do too.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Crisco
  • 1/2 Cup Margarine
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 4 Cups Powdered Sugar (1 lb)
  • 2 Tbl. Milk or Water (I prefer to use Half and Half)
  • 4 Tbl. Cocoa

Instructions

  1. Blend Oil and Margaine in mixer on low speed. Slowly add 2 cups of powdered sugar with cocoa into the mix. Slowly add vanilla, water/milk and remaining powdered sugar. Mix on medium speed; It will get clumpy, but just keep mixing. It will smooth to a light creamy consistancy. If you want to thin it out more, just add a bit more milk/water to the mix until it has reached your desired consistancy.
If your cake is going to sit out at room temperature, I suggest using water instead of milk. It tastes just as yummy. Enjoy.

So, you are using liquid crisco, and not solid crisco.? Not saying which one is confusing to me, I want to try this . Sounds really good.

I never heard of liquid Crisco. is there such thing? I think the Crisco here meant just packing 1-cup measuring cup full of Crisco

At first I thought the instructions were for solid Crisco shortening, but then the directions say to "blend" oil and margarine, so I am assuming that the recipe calls for oil and she uses Crisco brand. Hopefully she will answer and clarify the ingredients. It does sound yummy.

Its not meant to be the Wilton recipe. Sorry for any confusion, but I say Crisco when it's solid, and Vegtable Oil when it's liquid oil. The term oils is not to implicate liquids or solids. They are all oils to me. I have tried to edit the entry but it won't let me. So Crisco = solid shortening from the Tub. Thanks All.

I love this filling. I use this as a standard filling for my chocolate cakes. Its very firm if you put it in the fridge to let it cool. Always great raves about it. You cant go wrong. This should be everyones "go to" chocolate filling.

Thank you so much for your comments.  I use it on all my chocolate cakes for filling,  I get requests to make cup cakes and fill them with this recipe every week.  Gotta love it.
