Chocolate Ganache
Smooth, creamy, frosting or filling.
Ingredients
- 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate. (Good quality…and not bakers chocolate)
- 3/4 cup hearvy cream
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter (room temp)
Instructions
- Place the chopped chocolate in bowl (make sure they are pretty small pieces). Heat the cream and butter in a small saucepan, bring just to a boil. Immediately pour the boiling cream over the chocolate and allow to stand for 5 minutes. Stir until smooth. Let the smooth ganache sit at room temperature until slightly firm (about one hour) and then beat the ganache until creamy and light. Use as you wish. Good for cake fillings, frostings, and even brownie frosting.s
Great instructions. Simple and clear.I will sure try things one.
Going to make the girls in the office a chocolate cake with bc frosting and thought the ganache would be a great filling. Surprise!!!!! They won't be expecting it.
Can't get much easier than this! I have used this recipe for a filling, but did not whip it. It turned out perfectly.
Can this filling be made ahead and stored?
Added this to a batch of Buttercream Dream (recipe on this site) and it worked great as a sturdy chocolate buttercream! I did have to add some brown food coloring to get it to be a darker brown, but other than that it was perfect!
This looks perfect. I have a bride for this fall that wants a chocolate ganache filling. I can't wait to give this a try.
