quick and easy chocolate cake

Speedy but so yummy.

Ingredients

  • 8oz self raising flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 8oz butter
  • 8oz caster sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 200g melted chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 190c.
    Put all ingredients into a mixer and blend until smooth.
    Pour into two 7 inch cake pans.
    Bake for 25-30 mins, turn out straight away and allow to cool on a wire rack.
    This cake is great for covering in fondant, buttercream, ganache etc.
    Very often the filling and topping I use is ganache, it’s incredible.
