Family Choir Anniversary
Full sheet cake one half yellow half choc. Decorated with buttercream icing with royal icing and gumpaste flowers I bought, beacuse I didn't have time to make them.
MMF blanket.. (that is not easy rolling out, but I figured it out FINALLY) Buttercream icing w/ buttercream filling
My First Wedding Cake!
12" cake was French Vanilla Butter and 8" was Butter and Choc Fudge marble. Icing is bc with scroll work and fleur d'lis. I also put just a little clear cake glitter for a bit of sparkle on the tops of the layers.
I had to travel 2 1/2 hours with this cake, and the bride wanted a smooth buttercream, not fondant. So....I made the cakes and crumb coated them. Then, travelled to the town, rented a hotel room with a kitchenette and decorated the cake in the hotel room. The biggest concern I had was being sure I had all my tools with me, including pans in case I had a disaster and had to find somewhere to "re-bake"! It all went fine and the bride loved it.
White cake with strawberry jam filling. Buttercream icing. Daisy's fondant ribbon, bow, pearl border, and gift tag. Super pearl dust was used on the pearl border
A 10 inch cake for the oreo filling with white buttercream. A 12 inch cake cut in half for the top and bottom covered with chocolate buttercream. I used the Oreo Cookie Cake II recipe from this site. Delicious.
Barney Birthday Cake
Well I couldn't find anything out there for a Barney birthday cake other that the Wilton pan ones and I don't like doing those. I took 1/4 sheet cake pans and made 4 of them. 2 of them I iced in between and stacked then I took one of them and cut into the number 2 and placed on top of the last cake. One half of the cake is white and the other is chocolate. The icing is all buttercream and I stuck with the 3 Barney colors, yellow, purple and green. The Barney and Baby Bop were done by royal icing flow.
Little Lady Bug
Ok I get to giggling when I look at this cake. It looks like a cross between a spider and a lady bug sitting on a flower.
Here is my picture of the bratz doll that I did tonight...While I was on the phone with My SIS THE Turtle
This was actually a "saved cake". It is a chocolate cake covered in chocolate buttercrea. The buttercream was giving me problems, so I covered it in a chocolate ganache and made blue & brown chocolate pieces and just stuck it in there.....my neighbor said that her family finished it off in 36 hours!
