Wedding Cake After Flowers

Wedding Cake After Flowers on Cake Central

This is my cake after the florist got to it. I think she put too many flowers on but it's still pretty. There's a picture of it before the flowers on here also. This was all white cakes with whipped frosting and Toba's fondant. 6 & 10 in rounds on 15 in petal.

I've added both before and after photos to my favorites. This cake is very beautiful I wish I could make fringe like you did amazing work

This pic is magazine perfect! I don't think the flowers overpower it at all. The ruffle, the pearls, the quality of your work still shines thru.

Oh it's just gorgeous! I think the cake and florals compliment eachother! You did a fabulous job on the cake! The florist doesn't get to enhance a cake of this quality every day, you can be sure of that! Saving for my future inspirations. I have to learn to do those ruffles!!!

fringe=ruffles, right? They're actually not very hard. First, you pipe a shell all around where the border will be. Then you take a large petal tip (I forget which I used...) You position the base of the tip up where the shells meet the cake. Then as you squeeze, rotate your hand in an up and down motion so the base of the tip doesn't move but the other end does. You can stop and start whenever because the next one covers up the previous one :)

oh yeah, and then after you've added the ruffle, be sure to finish off with a shell or bead border above the ruffle:) Sometimes you really need it! lol
