Good job and congratulations...what recipe did you use for icing the cake. I am trying desperatly to achieve that dark brown color for a wedding cake I have this weekend. :D
I used the "chocolate buttercream" from the class book. so: 1 cup shortning (crisco for me) 1 teaspoon vanilla, 4 tablespoons water, 1 lb confectoners sugar, 1 tablespoon meringue, pinch of salt, 3/4 cup hershey's coco powder. It does NOT stick though, it's strange. It tried to fall right off my cake, I had to show it who'se boss.
I like the two different colors on your roses. Very pretty!

Oh and thank you so much! :) Gave it to DH to bring to work and it was gone by lunch! Piggies! ;)
Very nice! Your icing is nice and smooth and your roses look great! Love the colors you chose!
Thanks Erink-One more question...did you add any color to it to get it that deep brown color?
no, I did not add any color.
