Baby Bootie Shower Cake
Third time's a charm...I had problems getting the WBH white cake to work (twice), and finally switched to the Rebecca Rather white-on-white cake. Yum, good choice! Each cake is three layers, each filled with ShirleyW's mock bavarian and also rasperry coulis. Iced in IMBC. The color was not quite what I was aiming for but overall I was ok with it. I just LOVED making the gumpaste daisies. Letters are gumpaste too, painted in superpearl dust. Special thanks to grannys3angels for her baby bootie template!
Very pretty. The name looks wonderful!
Very cute! Can you give me any hints on how to make similar lettering? [email protected]

I love the letters, How did you make them?
Hi everyone, thanks for your nice comments! For the letters, I rolled out a long tube of gp and then flattened it with my fondant roller, then trimmed into strips. The N and s are single strips, the a+h are 2 pieces (the body part and the stem), and the cross of the t is actually 2 separate pcs (left+right side). Used a toothpick to get tight scrolls and then once letters were dry, used dissolved gumpaste to glue the pieces together. Does that make sense?! It's not as hard as it sounds ;)
Very nice. I love the lettering
