3-D Shark Cake

3-D Shark Cake on Cake Central

Large bottom cake (4 cake mixes) with sculpted shark on top. Used the 3-D Egg Pan for the basic shape and then added to it for the bottom jaw and rest of the back end. I ended up using rice krispie treat mix to sculpt the whole thing and it was a huge success, and a little lighter than dense cake. The kids loved it to and wanted both cake and krispie treat on their plate! Everything was white buttercream and I used the color mist in black, blue and red for the first time! Thanks to kitagrl for inspiration!

This is great! Can I ask what brand of box cake mix you use? It seems to be dense enough to hold the shark and it looks like it holds up very well! I love this cake!

I always use Duncan Hines and when I need it to be dense I use the recipe on the side that adds pudding mix to the cake mix (on yellow cake) but this was straight white cake mix
