Christmas Candles

My first try and making a cake with working candles. Candle cakes cooked in tin cans (and they're doweled ... just in case!) All buttercream (well, the holly leaves are royal icing) with tea light candles stuck in the ends. Used Melvira's method to smooth the cake side (yeah Melvira!). "Stones" are edible chocolate candy found at my local candy shop. Thanks to everyone on CC for the constant inspiration.

Thanks for all of your kind words. The tea lights are real candles. Not battery operated.

Gorgeous! How did you put the candles inside the cake?

The candles are in little round containers, I just pushed them into the top of the cake. Actually, on the small, red candle I cut away a bit of the cake and I thought the candle set a little better than the other two, but I have dowels in there too, so I couldn't do anything about the taller candles at that point.
