First Paid Wedding Cake....disaster!!!
I hated this cake from the very begining. From the consultation where the bride said she wanted cake for 200+ for only $75 to kids running around me while I was setting up and tripping over the cord for the fountain. There were many many problems in between but it is too long and I will post the story in the disaster forum in a bit. It was 6-10-14-16 in white heart shaped cakes over fountain.
Wow your a saint and the cake is lovely................................
The cake is beautiful~ You got through this so that shows grace! Good for you!!
If you hadn't told that story, no one would have guessed. Well done!!
ditto all the comments...you did a beautiful job and you can hold your head very high!
from this vantage point, it just looks lovely! Sorry about all the trouble. I may never do a wedding cake after all the horror I read. I didn't give my cake guy any problems! You did a wonderful job for a first!
Very nice job! Well, it looks great! Sorry you had such problems!
That is a very pretty cake. You did THAT for only $75?????????
I sure hope she paid more than $75!! It looks very nice!
I think the ones that put obstacles in our way are always the ones that we look back with a sense of accomplishment. You did a really nice job!
No I told her I would go no less than $1 a serving, and charged $5 a flower aragement. so I got $220 for it, but do to my own problems I had to rebake one layer of the 14 in and both of the 16in so I definetly went in the whole. Also this pic is after the cake got knocked over and the right side of the bottom tier was squished and I had to refrost to try to fix it. The whole story is in the distaster forum under part I the bride from hell and part II the cake from hell.
For all that went wrong, you did a GREAT job fixing. Just remember you advised against plugging in the fountain, let the MOB take the heat for that.
The cake turned out quite lovely. You did a great job repairing the damage and a beautiful job with the limited flowers you were given. Pat yourself on the back for saving the day even though your own heart was heavy.
WOW! After reading both posts on this subject, I was expecting to see some horrible, mishapen cake. I didn't expect to see a lovely, well decorated cake such as this! You reeeeaallly held it together well for this one, hon. Seriously--I'm super impressed! GO GIRL!
Despite all the obstacles the cake turned out great! You should be proud for saving the day as you did a wonderful job! Way to go!
OMG! What a story. You only got $75. for that cake? The cake is beautiful. Great job! You charged WAY too little for all that work.
oh there is NO WAY the bride was disappointed with this....it looks gorgeous!!! I would have never known it had any problems (darn kids LOL)

The heart shaped cake looks very nice! Did you use heart shaped plates?
yes I used heart shaped plates except for the bottom one wich is a round. I had to use some of that green floral gum to stick the pillars to the bottom plate
