Bratz Fairy

Bratz Fairy on Cake Central

Not my best effort but I'm sure the birthday girl will like it. Something about it just doesn;t sit right with me if ya know what I mean? Maybe the colours.

 Your colours are fine, probably my daughter would ask me to make one like this if she sees your cake.

thanks for that, it's something i can't quite put my fingure on. My DH described her as a bit 'wooden', maybe he is right. The dress doesn't look very 'flowy' either, Oh well she was my first doll cake, will change a few things next time.

Your work is beautiful. I think it has something to do with the look of the doll. I would like to try this myself. Did you use a mold for dress?

thanks for the nice comments. The dress itself was about an 8' diameter tin and a bowl cake stuck together and then carved. i think carved a bit too perfectly though! I think next time I would leave it a bit uneven to help the dress appear to have folds in it. In saying that it was an easy cake and you could do anything at all with the dress, and have a lot of fun with the colours and design.

I think the problem is with the doll, not your work. Her head seems to be really huge for her torso don't ya think?Love the colors.

What a great job you did on her dress! Very pretty and I like the colors! Like pp's said, it's the doll. Yes, Bratz are supposed to have large heads and feet, but for some reason this one almost looks evil or like she's scheming! (If ya know what I mean!)
