Tiara Birthday Cake

Tiara Birthday Cake on Cake Central

I made this cake for my 2 year old daughter and 3 year old niece's birthday party. It was put together last minute and not the original design, but I think it still turned out cute. I just wish I could get the hang of smoothing and leveling!

Do you have a cake leveler? And, have you ever heard of the Viva paper towel smoothing method? I struggled with these at first, and, I think that was the best thing I learned from the Wilton 1 class. This is a very pretty cake. I always start one direction and end another. That is why I enjoy cake and cookies decorating. Even when I do a design I have done before, there is something different or something new I learn.

Very Pretty!!! . . . . Just keep doing cakes and it will come. I use a spackle/scraper tool from the hardware store to smooth. Best investment I've ever done. I smooth my cakes in a quarter of the time using it.

I tried viva on this, and my frosting won't crust enough to let me do it! it sticks to the towel. user error i am sure! anyhow, thanks for looking!
