Seashell Wedding

Seashell Wedding on Cake Central

The seashells are a 50/50 mix of gumpaste and fondant, airbrushed with pearl luster dust and then dry brushed with assorted luster dusts. The coral is RI. I had to make my own molds since my local store did not carry a mold for large seashells. Once again, sculpey saved my day!!

I bought real shells and then laid the sculpey over the top half of the shell. I pressed down on it to make sure I got all the ridges. The sculpey didn't stick to the shells at all. The clay holds it shape real well. So then I baked it according to the instructions and now I have molds. I only did half the shell, since the backside of the shell would be laying on the cake. You can make molds for doll faces and all kinds of stuff with the Sculpey. It's great stuff!!
