Hawaiian Luau Cake

Hawaiian Luau Cake on Cake Central

This cake is my take on a scaled down version made by Freed's Bakery in Las Vegas that customer fell in love with. A lot of non-edible stuff on this cake that I don't usually do, but that's what they wanted. Bottom is banana cake with choc. bavarian cream and the top is French vanilla with raspberry. Crushed nilla wafer "sand" will be added upon delivery.

Ther water is just piping gel colored blue with Americolor icing color. I tried it out on cardboard a couple different ways before I decided on this method for the "water". I loved how the white icing underneath gave that variation in color depending on how thick/thin it was in some places.

There are actually two sizes of rocks...can't really see the small ones that well (they are chocolate rocks) and the bigger ones are jelly beans. Both are from cake supply stores here locally. I am sure you can order them on line as well. I'm pretty sure they are available on sugarcraft.com
